Christmas

 

 

 

Christmas is just around the corner, Margaret made it official by providing mince pies.

And if you need more proof we have a trio of Santas that just need a few bits added & then stuffing. Just like the turkey. These great little chappies belong to Gwen & we still think they look more like Santas than gnomes.

Kath put the finishing touches to her small Christmas candles hanging & Carol made a little donkey for her Belen (Nativity Scene). You can see how small it is compared to the cup behind it. (Love the ears)

Knitting

 

 

 

The knitting ladies were busy again, this week Maureen brought along the finished cardigan that is going to live with her or her sister & Sue has started a lovely coloured stole.

Gladys is knitting a teddy bear & Margaret D (also known as mince pie Margaret) was doing some hand sewing on a blouse / shrug.

Embroidery

 

 

Helen is still working on her fabulous goldwork & is hoping that the final piece of the design will be in place soon.

Jan is almost finished with her ribbon embroidery, just lacking a little more pink ribbon

Row by Row

The row by row girls are still working hard, with Linda catching up after being away for a week or two. No new photos this week.

Finally Maria from the village stopped by to say hello, she is looking very well after her operation. She hopes to be joining us for our end of term tea party next week.

Also thanks to the many people who brought in extra heaters this week.

This week we were a little thinner on the ground but still enthusiastic.

There was the monthly bring & buy & extra fabric from a friend of Jan - lots of silk & bits & bobs.

Carole came along with her daughter in law Rachel who was thrilled with her drunkards path quilt & will take it home this week. (Maybe wrapped around her!)

The other Carol & Jenny seemed to be having endless fun with their cord making.

Row By Row

This week the workshop concentrated on the row of hearts & flowers, the photos show work in progress.

Knitting and crochet

Ann C brought in another lovely Christmas hanging & Eleanor & Maureen were tirelessly working & chatting over their crotchet hooks. They are making throws for the next exhibit using yarn from Sues estate. Maureen also showed us a beautiful cardigan she has knitted as a commission for a friend of her daughters.

Ribbon Embroidery

Finally this week Vanessa & Yvonne finished their ribbon embroideries, thank you Ellie.

I would just like to thank Carol for doing the technical side of the blog & Ann for sending it on this week as my p.c. has thrown a wobbly!!
